Taittinger

Taittinger

Taittinger, a famous estate in the heart of an abbey

Like all the emblematic Champagne estates, Taittinger obviously stands out for the quality of its vintages. But the domain's special feature is the place where its vintages are matured: Saint-Niçaise Abbey, which dates back to the 13th century. This suits the production of Taittinger wines, which goes back a long way: it was in 1734, with the creation of a wine business by Jacques Fourneaux, that the story began. Today, Taittinger wines, made from 70% Chardonnay (on 290 hectares), are exported all over the world.

They are ideal as an aperitif. The Cuvée Prestige represents a certain perfection. It is a homogeneous wine, with a very expressive nose and fine bubbles. On the palate, it has hints of fruit and honey. Its lightness means it can be enjoyed by everyone, from neophytes to connoisseurs. We should also mention the Folies de la Marquetterie cuvée, which takes its name from the Château de la Marquetterie, around which the vineyards are used for its maturing. Its notes are often woody. This wine is full and generous on the palate. Finally, Taittinger wines lend themselves admirably to ageing.
