Château Le Pin
Château Le Pin is a wine estate that originated in Belgium in the 19th century, but moved to the Bordeaux region in the 1920s. It is run by Thienpont and is often recommended in wine guides. Today, it is known for its production of Le Pin wine under the Pomerol appellation, which is renowned for its rarity due to its small production size of just 2.2 hectares, producing just 8,000 bottles a year. The 2015 vintage costs in excess of €4,300. Bottles of Le Pin have the woody touch emblematic of Pomerols and have exceptional ageing potential. The Le Pin vineyard is also known as one of those "garage wines" that have been in great demand since the 1990s. The vineyard is planted exclusively with Merlot, although Cabernet Franc has been used in the past. All of Le Pin's production is reserved for red wines.
