Clos de Tart

Clos de Tart

Clos de Tart is one of the most emblematic wine estates in Burgundy, France. It is located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the famous Côte de Nuits region. Clos de Tart is particularly renowned for producing exceptional red wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The Clos de Tart vineyard is surrounded by a stone wall, making it a true clos (a walled vineyard), hence its name. It covers an area of around 7 hectares (17 acres) and is planted mainly with Pinot Noir, although small plots of white grape (Chardonnay) are also present. The terroir of this Clos is exceptional, with limestone, clay and stony soils contributing to the complexity of the wines. The estate has been owned by the Mommessin family since 1932, and is currently run by Sylvain Pitiot, who has continued to maintain Clos de Tart 's reputation as a producer of very high quality wines
