Laurent-Perrier
Laurent-Perrier: the best the Marne has to offer
More than two centuries ago, in 1812, Laurent-Perrier was born. Although this great Champagne producer was founded by André Michel Pierlot, it was Bernard de Nonancourt who made it the great name it is today. And it was his two successive cellar managers, Eugène Laurent and Mathilde Emilie Perrier, who gave it their names. Laurent-Perrier Champagne is made from chardonnay, pinot noir and meunier grapes. Today, Bernard de Nonancourt's daughters are at the helm of the Laurent-Perrier estate.
Situated between the three greatest terroirs of the Marne (Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne), the Laurent-Perrier family is above all concerned with elegance. This producer's best-selling wine is undoubtedly the Brut Rosé. It has lovely notes of red fruit and is round. This rosé is one of the most sought-after on the market, but also one of the most expensive from Laurent-Perrier. There's also Grand Siècle, a blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir that is both powerful and delicate. Most of the production, however, remains very affordable.
