Château Lafleur

Lafleur: a wide range of vintages

In the Pomerol appellation, Châteaux Lafleur is a must. These Bordeaux wines are capable of great diversity in their vintages, thanks in part to the three types of soil found on the estate's 4 hectares: from gravelly sand to sandy-clay or clayey gravel. What's more, the Lafleur estate only produces red wines, using a specific grape variety: Merlot and Cabernet Franc. These two varieties seem to be planted in equal proportions, although Merlot has a slight advantage. It should be noted that this production (around 12,000 bottles a year) is always environmentally friendly

Lafleur's wines can be surprising given the richness of their soils, but on the whole they are intense: on the nose, they reveal hints of flowers, violets and peony. Here and there, liquorice can be detected. Supple, the 2000 to 2005 vintages are exceptional. On the other hand, these are wines that can be laid down for a long time: most will need to wait at least 8 to 10 years before drinking. Some can be kept for more than 20 years. If you have a Lafleur Premier Grand Cru in your cellar, everyone can sell their wine quickly with Vins Grands Crus.
