Domaine Jaboulet

Jaboulet: exceptional wines

Despite its large production (around 3 million bottles a year), Domaine Jaboulet-Aîné remained a family business until 2006. At that time, Jaboulet was bought by the Frey company. The Paul Jaboulet-Aîné(or 'PJA') wine has already made its mark, producing one of the world's finest Syrah wines (its entire red wine is devoted to it). Of particular interest is La Chapelle, which is made from a selection of the best of these Syrahs. The wine is matured for a year, with 15% to 20% new barrels.
Jaboulet is a Rhône Valley wine that focuses primarily on reds. Of the 125 hectares that make up the estate, 103 are dedicated to Syrah. The remaining 22 hectares of granite terroir are more or less equally divided between marsanne, roussanne and viognier. The large production means that you can find a bottle on your table for less than a hundred euros. That said, some have already flirted with the thousand euro mark. A bottle of Jaboulet La Chapelle 1964 can fetch around 1,400 euros.

Domaine Jaboulet is a prestigious vineyard in the Saint-Joseph region, run by the Frey family since 2005. It is renowned for its organically produced wines, including the famous Crozes Hermitage and Cornas. The estate is the legacy of Paul Jaboulet, founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet and run by the Jaboulet family for over 150 years. Paul Jaboulet wines have won numerous awards and are highly regarded by wine lovers.
