Les Forts de Latour wines are mainly red wines made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes. They are made with meticulous attention to detail, although the maturation in French oak barrels and the ageing period may be shorter than for Château Latour's main wine. Although Les Forts de Latour are considered to be the "second wine," they are nevertheless high quality wines.
