Chapoutier: promising wines

In 1999, Michel Chapoutier acquired a vineyard that was to become one of the most famous in Roussillon. Today, apart from the character of the man who claims loud and clear to want to democratise the culture of wine and who has been rated 100/100 by Robert Parker 30 times, his schist terroir is emblematic of the wines of the Rhône Valley. 63 hectares are devoted to red wines, with Syrah (40%), Grenache Noir (30%) and Carignan (30%). Domaine Chapoutier produces its wine organically (Michel Chapoutier manages 200 hectares of biodynamic vines in France).

Domaine Chapoutier is a prestigious vineyard located in the Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côte-Rôtie regions. It is run by Michel Chapoutier, a famous winemaker renowned for his exceptional vintages and biodynamic viticulture. The estate produces red and white wines from renowned grape varieties. Tastings are an opportunity to discover the history and quality of Chapoutier wines, which are appreciated the world over.

The wines, for their part, are particularly promising. The diversification of grape varieties means that different flavours can be found in the bottle. These include quince, walnut, acacia and, more rarely, lime blossom. The very late harvesting of Chapoutier wines produces very mature, complex wines, while the controversial practice of bâtonnage explores new avenues. One final advantage: as Michel Chapoutier advocates wines at prices that everyone can afford, many of his bottles remain under ten euros. So it's easy to find one and enjoy it at your next dinner party. To sell your wine in the best possible conditions and get a quick estimate, contact Vins Grands Crus!
