Champagne Suenen - La Cocluette Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut 2015 Bouteille (75cl)
Champagne Suenen La Cocluette 2015 is an Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru from Champagne crafted by Aurélien Suenen from 100% Chardonnay. This single-plot cuvée originates from Oiry and highlights old-vine Chardonnay. The base wines are mainly fermented in barrels, followed by nine months of barrel aging prior to secondary fermentation; the 2015 vintage then spent five years on its lees. La Cocluette is distinguished by its fine expression, airy texture, and persistent mineral finish.

Suenen
Located in Cramant, Champagne Suenen is a family estate managed by Aurélien Suenen since 2009. Its five hectares are spread across the grands crus of Cramant, Chouilly, and Oiry in the Côte des Blancs, as well as the Massif de Saint-Thierry. The estate notably crafts single-plot Blanc de Blancs, including La Cocluette and Les Robarts, as well as La Grande Vigne, made from Meunier in Montigny-sur-Vesle.

Histoire du domaine
The Suenen family has been established in Champagne for five generations: its winegrowing roots date back to 1898, while the founding of the estate is generally dated to 1905. After the Second World War, Bernard Suenen developed estate-bottling. His son Daniel expanded the vineyard, progressively increasing sales from around 4,000 to 20,000 bottles, and created the family's first vintage champagnes. When Daniel fell ill in 2008, Aurélien Suenen took on more responsibilities, then assumed management of the estate following his father's passing in 2009. He then restructured the range and the vineyard, discontinued the use of herbicides and insecticides starting in 2012, and deepened parcel-by-parcel vinification. Les Robarts, in Cramant, was isolated starting from the 2012 harvest; La Cocluette in Oiry, Le Mont-Aigu in Chouilly, and La Grande Vigne in Montigny-sur-Vesle followed with the 2013 vintage.
La Cocluette

- The cuvée takes its name from the lieu-dit La Cocluette, a Chardonnay plot located in Oiry.
- Cuvée creation year
- 2013
- Style of the cuvée
- Taut and precise extra-brut Blanc de Blancs, characterized by a strong chalky expression, vibrant acidity, a chiselled texture, and a saline finish.
- Position within the range
- Rare single-vineyard cuvée positioned among the estate's most ambitious terroir-driven vintage champagnes.
Histoire de la cuvée
Aurélien Suenen individualized La Cocluette during the 2013 harvest as part of his evolution toward terroir-driven champagnes. The 2013 vintage represents the first documented production of this parcel-selection cuvée, released after extended aging on the lees.
