Château Pavie
A member of the Bordeaux wine family, with an estate of 37 hectares, Château Pavie is an astonishing little place. In 1998, the château was bought by Gérard Perse, who was determined to take it to the very top. Gradually, his vintages climbed the ladder, reaching the highest step in 2012: the Premier Grand Cru Classé A for a Saint-Emilion. In 2000, Gérard Perse's reorganisation of the estate, in collaboration with Michel Rolland, bore fruit: that was the year that the famous Robert Parker declared Pavie to be "one of the best wines in the world".
Today, Domaine Pavie is a leading representative of the Bordeaux region, joining other legendary estates. Its production is initially centred on two appellations: the "Grand Vin de Pavie", which has received the accolades it has received and which comes into its own after 8 years' ageing, and the "Arôme de Pavie ". The latter has been around since 2005 and is aimed at a different audience. It is not only more accessible, but also less severe in terms of ageing (from 4 years for tasting).
