Salon: a unique vintage to satisfy everyone

If the house of Salon is now emblematic in Champagne, it is now run by another great name: Laurent-Perrier. Launched in 1920, the estate was taken over in 1988. Today, Salon wines are still produced in small quantities, between 60,000 and 80,000 bottles a year. Above all, Salon's approach is focused on uniqueness: a single grape variety (Chardonnay), a single cru and a single vintage. Added to this is the fact that Salon wines are not only made without blending, they also refuse to use wood barrels or added yeast.

Another characteristic of Domaine Salon is the ageing potential of its wines. They are aged for a minimum of 10 years. But some can be kept for up to 50 years, making them the longest-keeping wines in Champagne. The estate's only cuvée is called "Cuvée S", and each vintage is always of exceptional quality. A case in point is the 1997 vintage, whose nose develops floral, hazelnut and brioche notes. On the palate, these same aromas are present, adding a creamy texture. This was Salon's penultimate vintage of the 20th century. In the 21st century, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007 are already available
