A nod to the history of Domaine Faiveley .

This leading Burgundy wine producer was founded in 1825 on the initiative of Pierre Faiveley. At the time, the company was still a local négociant who assembled wines and offered them on the market. But generation after generation, the family made a name for itself with its exceptional heritage of 115 ha of vines and its strong commitment to quality wines. Captain Georges Faiveley was one of the personalities who brought new life to the estate. He was able to save the vineyards from the economic crisis of 1929 by putting all his energy into them, while at the same time creating La Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin in 1934. This is a brotherhood based on promoting the tradition of Burgundy, its wines and its gastronomy. At the time, Burgundy wines had no buyers. After his death, Guy Faiveley took over and doubled the size of the vineyards. He then decided to let his son, François Faiveley, run the family domaine for 3 decades. He in turn passed the torch to his young son Erwan at the beginning of 2005. The young manager decided to bring about a qualitative change in the vast estate by renovating the family building, purchasing a new winery, improving the taste and style of the wines... Erwan Faiveley, assisted by his sister and a team of fine technicians, aims to increase the vineyard estate in order to be able to offer a complete range of wines. To this end, he has acquired the Annick Parent estate in Monthelie and 5 ha of prime land in Puligny-Montrachet. Today, the domaine produces around 850,000 bottles a year, half of which are destined for the foreign market. Vineyards and winemaking process

The historic estate covers around 120 ha of vines in the Côte des Nuits and Côte de Beaune. 12 ha are entitled to the appellation Grands cru, 27 ha Premiers crus and 5 in the "Monopole" classification. It farms some of the finest plots in the best climates of Nuits-Saint-Georges, producing 10 Grands Crus and 20 Premiers Crus. The grape varieties are Pinot Noir (100%) and Chardonnay (100%). The average age of the vines is 60 years. After hand-picking, the estate team carefully selects the ripest grapes. The finest grapes are gravity-fed into wooden vats. Fermentation takes place in open vats, with daily punching down to extract tannins and color. The must is then pressed to obtain a pure juice of great intensity, before ageing in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months. The vinification and ageing phases may differ from one vintage to another. But whatever the appellation, constant temperature and hygrometry in the building's 19th-century vaulted cellars are imperative. In all, the domaine produces 54 different wines, not including wines for the trade, starting with Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze, Musigny, Echézeaux, Corton-Charlemagne, Bâtard-Montrachet, Corton through to Gevrey Premier cru "les cazetiers", Nuits Saint-Georges premier cru "les vignes rondes", etc. Overview of the domaine's top wines

An overview of the best wines from the Faiveley estate.

Each bottle of the domaine's Grands Crus and Premiers Crus reflects the high quality and diversity of Burgundy's terroirs. From mellow-textured wines to expressive grands crus, powerful wines with great body, nervy wines with fine tannins and wines designed for ageing, there's something for every taste and budget.
-Domaine Faiveley Bienvenues Batard-Montrachet 2017: 2017 is a good year for the white Grands crus of Puligny Montrachet. On the nose, this wine reveals delicious aromas of fresh peaches, lemon, nougat, pear, dried white flowers and a hint of minerality. The palate is full-bodied, fleshy and elegantly textured, with fine depth in the middle. The finish is long, a little austere, exuberant, yeasty with good acidity. An impressive wine that may reach its peak in a decade or two. An ideal gift idea at a very attractive price for your boss, husband or loved one.
-Domaine Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze 2015 magnum : an exquisite red Grand Cru available in magnum that also bears a rich, intense perfume of red fruits, flowers, a hint of wood with a lovely balance of acidity to make it attractive and fresh. The finish is quite long with slightly dry tannins. An ideal wine to collect or keep for years, but also suitable for group tasting at the end of the year, for example
-Domaine Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze Les Ouvrées Rodin 2016: another excellent Grand Cru with a beautiful cherry color and dense, rich aromas of red fruit, blackcurrant, grilled game, licorice, spices and new oak. On the palate, it has a full-bodied, expansive expression with a deep core and abundant, velvety tannins, underpinned by a light acid note. The full-bodied wine has a long, penetrating finish. A great wine that deepens with age and may reach its peak in several decades. This promotional wine is perfect for aperitifs and appetizers, but also goes well with stewed dishes and game. In the same expressive wine style, you can also choose Domaine Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze Les Ouvrées Rodin 2017.
-Domaine Faiveley Latricières Chambertin 2016: a red Grand Cru with good value for money. The rich bouquet of red and ripe black fruits unfolds spicy flavors, beautiful minerality, round tannins and an impressive finish. This wine is still young and has good cellaring potential. A must-have in your wine cabinet.
