Domain Jean Marc Roulot Meursault Boucheres 2013 Bottle (75cl)
The 2013 Domaine Jean-Marc Roulot Meursault Bouchères is a white Burgundy wine from the Les Bouchères climat, classified as Meursault Premier Cru, in the commune of Meursault in the Côte-d’Or. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay, it expresses the identity of a lieu-dit officially authorized to bear the Premier Cru designation within the Meursault appellation. This cuvée thus combines the precision of a great Côte de Beaune white with the single-plot origin of Les Bouchères.

Histoire du domaine
The Roulot family has been based in Meursault since the late 18th century. The estate, in its modern form, developed primarily from the 1950s onwards under the leadership of Guy Roulot, born in 1929. His marriage to Geneviève Coche coincided with the expansion of the family’s wine-growing estate. Guy Roulot played a key role in promoting the separate bottling of wines from several ‘lieux-dits’ in Meursault. Following his death in 1982, the estate was temporarily managed by a succession of winemakers. His son Jean-Marc Roulot, who was then pursuing a career as an actor in Paris, finally took over the estate in January 1989. He continued to expand the vineyard and converted the vines to organic farming from 1999 onwards. The estate is now run by Jean-Marc Roulot, with Éric Bodin as cellar master and head of winemaking at his side.
Les Bouchères
Les Bouchères is a climat officially classified as a Premier Cru of the AOC Meursault, located mid-slope between Les Gouttes d'Or to the north and Porusot to the south. Professional sources dedicated to this site describe a steep hillside, facing south-east, with pale clay-limestone, pebbly, and very stony soils. Good drainage is associated with the steep inclination and abundance of stones. The production specifications authorize this climat for still white or red wines, although the reference studied is a white wine.

Histoire de la parcelle
Les Bouchères appears in the regulatory list of Meursault climats that can accompany the "Premier Cru" designation. The AOC Meursault was recognized on July 31, 1937, and the specific plot area intended for Premiers Crus was approved by the INAO on September 5 and 6, 2001. No more specific historical event regarding the climat has been recorded due to a lack of sufficiently precise institutional documentation.
