Champagne Armand de Brignac Demi Sec Ace of Spades

Histoire du domaine
The Cattier family has been cultivating vines in Champagne for over 250 years and is based on the Montagne de Reims. In the 1950s, Nelly Cattier registered the name ‘de Brignac’ – inspired by a character from a novel – for a future wine project. In the early 2000s, Jean-Jacques Cattier revived this name to create a new champagne brand within the Cattier portfolio. The first bottles of Armand de Brignac left the French cellars in 2006. The cuvées are crafted by the Cattier family, primarily from their vineyards in Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses and Ludes, supplemented by a selection of grapes from the Champagne region. On 5 November 2014, Sovereign Brands sold its stake in the brand to a company led by Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter. In February 2021, Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, acquired a 50 per cent stake in Armand de Brignac and became a partner of Shawn Carter. Winemaking remains in the hands of the Cattier family; Alexandre Cattier is currently responsible for the production of the champagnes.
