Wines of the Jura

The wines of the Jura, a wine-growing region in eastern France, are renowned for their unique character and age-old tradition. The Jura is famous for its special winemaking method, known as "vin jaune". The red wines, made mainly from Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir grapes, are characterised by their lightness, finesse and aromas of red fruit and delicate spices. The white wines of the Jura, made from grapes such as Chardonnay and Savagnin, are fresh, lively and elegant, with aromas of white fruit, citrus and flowers. Some white wines are also matured under a veil of yeast, giving them subtle oxidative notes and added complexity. The authenticity and passion of Jura winemakers is reflected in every bottle of wine.
