Histoire du domaine
Château Lagrave Cissan has been associated with the Lescoutra family since 1919, according to the history published by Vignobles Jean Denis Bibian. During this period, the estate’s grapes were delivered to the Listrac cooperative winery. The wines were then sold primarily on the Asian market, as well as to the firefighters responsible for monitoring the surrounding pine forests; this use gave rise to the local nickname ‘firefighters’ wines’. In 2021, following a family division of assets, Pierre Jean Denis Bibian acquired the vineyards of Château Lagrave Cissan. The estate now produces wines under the Listrac-Médoc and Haut-Médoc appellations. Its grape varieties consist mainly of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon; Petit Verdot was introduced in 2021. Pierre Jean Denis Bibian is described by the estate as a winemaker and cellar master, responsible for monitoring the wines and overseeing the blends.
