Histoire du domaine
Olivier is an ancient lordship whose existence is recorded as early as the Middle Ages. The estate entered the de Bethmann family heritage in 1886. After a long period during which the vineyard was operated under tenant farming, Jean-Jacques de Bethmann resumed direct management in 1982. In the meantime, Château Olivier had obtained its classification among the Crus Classés de Graves in 1953 for both its red and white wines. Laurent Lebrun joined the property in 2002 as general manager. Starting in the 2000s, a detailed geological survey accompanied the parcel restructuring of the vineyard and the renovation of the vat room, redesigned in 2004 to allow batch-by-batch vinification. The property remains in the hands of the de Bethmann family; Éléonore de Bethmann is currently its manager. The wines have been certified HVE 3 starting from the 2018 vintage and organic since the 2024 vintage.
