Domaine Dugat-Py
Dugat-Py: numerous quality appellations
The Bernard Dugat-Py estate is one of the most emblematic on the Côte-de-Nuits. Born in the middle of the Middle Ages, it is now in its thirteenth generation of winemakers. As a result, the style of this Burgundy wine is exceptionally mature. Today, Dugat-Py wines are available under the following appellations: Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Clos de Tart, Clos des Fées, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambertin, Lavaux Saint-Jacques, Petite-Chappelle... In some years, additional crus are added: Fonteny, for example, was available in 1996 and 2009. With an annual production of 35,000 bottles, they remain hard to find. Some of them exceed the 500 euro mark.
The Dugat-Py terroir covers 10.5 hectares in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. It produces both reds (Pinot noir) and whites (Chardonnay), in almost equal proportions. Château Dugat-Py is characterized by the age of its vines. They are particularly old, with an average age of around 65 years. Add to this an ageing period of at least 6 to 8 years, and you'll discover soft, pure wines with a particularly wide range of flavours. Zan, violet, fruit and hints of leather can all be felt. Dugat-Py wines are interesting for the nuances they offer, even within a single vintage. To sell your wine in the best conditions and get a quick estimate, contact Vins Grands Crus!
