The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine Louis Latour is a Village-level red Burgundy wine made from 100% Pinot Noir in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation, in the Côte de Nuits. The grapes come from vines averaging 30 years old, harvested by hand, with a reported average yield of 40 hl/ha. Vinification combines traditional open-vat fermentation and complete malolactic fermentation, followed by 10 to 12 months of aging in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, of which 20% are new oak. James Suckling awards it 92/100. Critics highlight its fruity charm, soft tannins, and a dry finish that supports the overall vitality.
