Champagne Jacques Selosse Initial is a non-millesimé blanc de blancs brut Champagne, crafted in Champagne and classified as Grand Cru. This cuvée blends three successive harvests originating from Avize, Oger, and Cramant, principally from lower hillside parcels. It rests for approximately five years on the lees before disgorgement and receives a dosage of around 5 g/L. Initial thus expresses the approach of the Jacques Selosse estate through a blend of crus from the Côte des Blancs.

Initial is a Blanc de Blancs champagne made from Chardonnay sourced from Avize, Cramant, and Oger, primarily from vines located at the foot of the slopes. The cuvée blends three successive vintages and represents the classic expression of Domaine Jacques Selosse.

Histoire de la cuvée
The cuvée was previously marketed under the name Brut Tradition before being renamed Initial in the early 2000s. Anselme Selosse built it around three successive vintages originating from the lower slope sectors, in contrast to Version Originale, which mainly comes from higher elevations.
