Histoire du domaine
Remoissenet Père et Fils was founded in Beaune in 1877 and established itself in a historic 14th-century building in the heart of the town. The company remained in the Remoissenet family until 2005. During the final decades of this period, Roland Remoissenet was at the helm. When he retired in 2005, the company, its cellars, stocks and vineyards were acquired by a group led by the American financier Edward L. Milstein. The reorganisation that followed included the appointment of Bernard Repolt as managing director and the arrival of oenologist Claudie Jobard ahead of the 2005 grape harvest. In 2008, the company reacquired plots in several Côte de Nuits appellations, including Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Charmes-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot. Remoissenet Père et Fils now operates as both a wine estate and a wine merchant, producing wine from grapes grown on its own vineyards as well as from grapes selected from partner growers. Recent legal filings identify Edward Milstein as the managing director of Remoissenet Père et Fils SCS, of which Remoissenet Holdings Ltd is the general partner.
Les Cras (Meursault)
Les Cras is a climat officially classified as a Meursault Premier Cru, but only a portion of the cadastral lieu-dit of the same name belongs to the Premier Cru area. Located in the northern sector of the Meursault vineyard, near the border of Volnay, it can produce white or red wines. Professional descriptions indicate a steep slope with stony clay-limestone soils in its upper part, more limestone towards the bottom, and more clayey in the Clos Richemont sector. A record relating to two contiguous plots in the upper part of the climat places them at around 238 meters and facing south-east, data which cannot, however, be extended with certainty to the entire boundary.

Histoire de la parcelle
Les Cras was among the first-class terroirs in the classification of the Meursault vineyard established by the Beaune arrondissement Agriculture Committee in 1860-1861. In 1943, the State recognized the Meursault climats authorized to bear the "Premier Cru" mention; Les Cras appears today in the regulatory list, for only part of the lieu-dit and for both colors.
