Hoffmann-Jayer Bourgogne Aligote 2018 Magnum (150cl)
The 2018 Bourgogne Aligoté from Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer is a white Burgundy wine made from Aligoté. This cuvée comes from the lieu-dit Les Castaings in the commune of Magny-lès-Villers, where the estate cultivates Aligoté Doré from vines aged around 70 years. The grapes are hand-harvested; maturation combines 350-litre barrels and stoneware vats prior to a light filtration. The estate is located in the Hautes Côtes, between Beaune and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Histoire du domaine
The estate’s origins date back to the 1950s, following the union of two winegrowing families, one from Vosne-Romanée and the other from Magny-lès-Villers. The estate was established in Magny-lès-Villers, in the Gilles family home, built in 1886. In the post-war period, it initially practised mixed farming, like many estates in the region. During the 1970s, Robert and Paulette Jayer shifted the estate’s focus exclusively to viticulture and began producing wine on the estate itself. Their son, Gilles Jayer, became their business partner in 1991. He subsequently took sole charge of the estate in 1998 and helped to raise the profile of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits appellations. With no descendants to carry on the estate, Gilles Jayer sold it to André Hoffmann in 2017; the estate was then renamed Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer. Since the takeover, Alexandre Vernet has been the manager and winemaker in charge of winemaking.
