Domaine Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey Chambertin VV 2023 Bouteille (75cl)
Domaine Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2023 is a Burgundy village-appellation red wine made in Gevrey-Chambertin from Pinot Noir. This old-vine cuvée comes from centenarian vines. The 2023 vintage was vinified with 50% whole clusters, a practice that contributes to its structure and complexity. A concentrated Gevrey-Chambertin driven by deep dark fruit, spicy nuances, and a savory mineral backbone.

Histoire du domaine
The estate has its origins in the family-run business managed by Michel Esmonin in Gevrey-Chambertin. Before his daughter joined the business, the wines were sold in bulk to wine merchants. Having trained in oenology in Dijon and gained experience as a consultant oenologist, Sylvie Esmonin joined her father to produce the 1990 vintage. From that point onwards, the entire production was bottled at the estate, then known as Domaine Michel Esmonin et Fille. Sylvie and Michel Esmonin initially made decisions together, before Sylvie gradually took over the management of the estate. In 1998, following her father’s departure, she took sole charge of the estate, which became Domaine Sylvie Esmonin. She now oversees both the vineyard work and the winemaking. The registered vineyard covers 7.66 hectares of planted vines, spread across regional appellations: Côte de Nuits-Villages, Gevrey-Chambertin, Volnay Premier Cru Santenots and Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques. The estate cultivates 1.60 hectares within the Clos Saint-Jacques.
