Domaine des Miroirs Jura Ja Do Les Saugettes 2013 Bottle (75cl)
The Domaine des Miroirs Ja Do 2013 is a red wine from the Côtes du Jura appellation, produced in the Jura region by Domaine des Miroirs. This cuvée is made exclusively from Poulsard, the emblematic red grape variety of the Jura. The 2013 vintage thus combines the estate's distinct identity with a pure, single-varietal expression of Poulsard.

Histoire du domaine
Trained as an engineer in Japan, Kenjiro Kagami moved to France in 2001 to train in viticulture and oenology. He studied at the Beaune wine-growing college and undertook work placements with Comte Georges de Vogüé in Burgundy, Thierry Allemand in Cornas and Bruno Schueller in Alsace. After several years working with Bruno Schueller, he moved to the Jura in 2010 with his wife Mayumi. With the support of Jean-François Ganevat, the couple acquired a vineyard in Grusse – which was then partly neglected – situated on limestone slopes and surrounded by woodland. The plot, covering approximately 3.2 hectares, had been cultivated until the 1950s before being gradually abandoned. Domaine des Miroirs produced its first vintage in 2011. Its name derives from the Japanese surname Kagami, which means ‘mirror’. Kenjiro and Mayumi Kagami run the estate together, with Kenjiro responsible for winemaking.
Ja Do
Ja Do! is a red cuvée marketed as a Vin de France by Domaine des Miroirs. It blends Poulsard and Trousseau, two red grape varieties from the Jura. The mention "Les Saugettes", found on certain presentations, refers to the origin of the grapes rather than the main name of the cuvée.
- Origin of the cuvée name
- « Ja Do! » translates the Japanese expression じゃあ、どう, roughly meaning "So, what do you say?" or "Why not do it this way?".
- Style of the cuvée
- A delicate, lightly extracted Jura red wine that prioritizes freshness, fruit purity, a supple texture, and an airy expression over power.
- Position within the range
- A red blend of Poulsard and Trousseau, distinct from the single-varietal red cuvées Ja Nai and Que Sera, Sera.
Histoire de la cuvée
The cuvée has been documented at least since the 2015 vintage. Consulted sources do not establish its first year of creation with certainty.
