Domaine Clos Naudin (Foreau) Moelleux Réserve 2018 Bouteille (75cl)
Le Domaine Clos Naudin (Foreau) Moelleux Réserve 2018 is a sweet white Vouvray from the Loire Valley crafted by Domaine Clos Naudin from Chenin Blanc. This cuvée comes from a selection of botrytised grapes and displays approximately 130 g/l of residual sugar. The Chenin vines grow on clay-silica slopes over a limestone crust; fermentation is slow, carried out by indigenous yeasts in 300-litre barrels. A sweet Vouvray where fruit richness is supported by a chalky and saline structure.

Domaine Clos Naudin
The Clos Naudin estate, also known as Foreau, is a family-run property situated in Vouvray, in Touraine. Run by Vincent Foreau, it cultivates 12 hectares of Chenin Blanc, mainly on the appellation’s ‘premières côtes’, on flint-clay soils resting on tuffeau limestone. The estate produces still Vouvray wines – dry, semi-dry and sweet – as well as sparkling wines.

Histoire du domaine
The history of Clos Naudin has been linked to the Foreau family in Vouvray since the early 20th century. Armand Foreau began digging the estate’s cellars by hand in 1910; this work continued until 1970. He gradually expanded the vineyard, which reached 18 hectares by 1969, and was one of the Vouvray winegrowers who bottled their own wines. Part of the vineyard subsequently ceased to form part of the estate’s direct holdings following a succession in favour of Armand’s daughter, the wife of Gaston Huet. His son, André Foreau, rebuilt the vineyard by purchasing plots and ran the estate from 1969 to 1982. Philippe Foreau succeeded him and produced his first vintage in 1983. Vincent Foreau joined the estate in 2007, before taking over its management. The vineyard is now certified organic and covers 12 hectares planted with Chenin Blanc.
Moelleux Réserve
Le Moelleux Réserve is a distinct cuvée from the classic Moelleux of Domaine du Clos Naudin. It is crafted from chenin blanc concentrated by noble rot and is produced only when the vintage allows for a suitable selection. It represents the richest level in the estate's regular range of still wines.
- Style of the cuvée
- Concentrated, rich, sweet white Vouvray built for long-term aging, whose residual sugar is balanced by the natural acidity, freshness, and mineral framework of Chenin.
- Position within the range
- The regular pinnacle of the estate's sweet wines, sitting just below the exceptionally rare Goutte d'Or when produced.
Histoire de la cuvée
The cuvée has been documented at least since the 1976 vintage. Philippe Foreau maintained it among the estate's five regular cuvées, distinguishing the Moelleux primarily made from passerillage from the Moelleux Réserve based on botrytis concentration.
