Claire Naudin Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand Echezeaux 2018 Bottle (75cl)
Claire Naudin Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand Échezeaux 2018 is a red Burgundy wine from the Échezeaux Grand Cru parcel in the Vosne-Romanée sector. It is crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir. For this vintage, the estate indicates an origin in the Les Rouges du Bas lieu-dit, on a slope with soils resting on a pink limestone slab. The Nature cuvée was vinified without destemming, using native yeasts, then aged on the lees in barrels—67% of which were new oak—before being bottled without filtration.

Histoire du domaine
The winemaking roots claimed by the Naudin family date back to the 16th century in Nantoux. Around 1892, Louis Naudin built the family home in Magny-lès-Villers, which became the emblem of the estate. His son Henri Naudin, born in 1896, married Claire Deroye in 1922; she encouraged the planting and purchase of vineyards, while the wines were then commercialized under the Henri Naudin-Deroye label. Their son Henri began winemaking with his father in 1947, at the age of 16, and gradually developed his own vineyard. In 1964, his marriage to Liliane Ferrand led to the creation of the Henri Naudin-Ferrand label. Their daughter Claire carried out her first vinifications at the estate in 1991, completed a five-month internship in Australia in 1992, and then returned to Magny with an agricultural engineering degree and the national oenologist diploma. Henri entrusted her with team management on September 1, 1993. On January 1, 1994, Claire officially became the operator and manager of EARL Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand; Henri retired three months later. In 1999, she bought out her parents' shares and became the sole partner of the EARL. Following Henri's passing and the departure of her sister Marie in 2013, Claire continues to run the estate alone, supported by a salaried team to whom she progressively delegates technical responsibilities. She remains responsible for monitoring vinification and preparing the wines for bottling.
Échezeaux (Vosne Romanée)
Échezeaux is a Grand Cru appellation physically delimited within the Côte de Nuits, located entirely within the commune of Flagey-Echézeaux, between Clos de Vougeot and the Premiers Crus of Vosne-Romanée. It brings together eleven climats and features more diverse topography and soils than the neighboring Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru. The vineyard ranges in altitude from 230 meters to just over 300 meters, with a slope reaching 13% mid-slope. Bajocian marls, locally covered with scree, gravel, red alluvium, and yellowish marls, form a complex mosaic.

Histoire de la parcelle
The winegrowing development of Échezeaux is associated with the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux in the 12th and 13th centuries, within the same historical complex as Clos de Vougeot. The Échezeaux Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée was recognized by the decree of July 31, 1937, published on August 11, 1937.
