Histoire du domaine
Château Fleur Cardinale is situated in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, east of Saint-Émilion, on the northern slope of a clay-limestone plateau. The Asséo family owned it before it was taken over by the Decoster family. Dominique and Florence Decoster acquired the château in 2001, having previously worked in the porcelain industry in Limoges. The estate was classified as a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 2006. In 2011, the Decoster family purchased the neighbouring estate, Château Croix Cardinale. Ludovic Decoster and his wife Caroline took over the reins of the family business in 2017. Further plots were acquired in 2018 to launch a white wine production. The Château Fleur Cardinale winery was completely redesigned in 2019. In 2024, the family’s wine-making and hospitality activities were brought together under the umbrella of La Maison Cardinale. Ludivine Chagnon has held the post of technical director since September 2023.
