Histoire du domaine
The estate was acquired by the Sauvanelle family in 1578, on land then held by the monks of Saint-Émilion. The Sauvanelle brothers developed the estate and, from 1602, began exporting white and red wines to Spain. The château was built on the estate in 1643, before undergoing alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1735, Jeanne Magdeleine de Sauvanelle brought the estate as her dowry upon her marriage to Monsieur Desaigues. During the French Revolution, the estate was seized and the château ransacked, but Gabrielle Desaigues subsequently managed to reclaim the property, save for three hectares. The estate passed to Alexandre de Laage in the mid-19th century. In 1949, it came into the Lambert family through the marriage of Marguerite de Folin to Henri de Lambert. Henri de Lambert modernised the estate, increasing the area under vine from 28 to 47.6 hectares, and chaired the Pomerol Wine Growers’ Association from 1969 to 1990. His son Bruno de Lambert managed the estate from 1982 to 2017. Since 2017, the fourteen cousins who are co-owners have resumed family management; Nicolas de Lambert now chairs the company and Marie-Laure Latorre has been its managing director since September 2025.
