Stenope
Sténopé is a vintage champagne cuvée born from the collaboration between Champagne Devaux, a house from the Côte des Bar, and Michel Chapoutier. Crafted under the responsibility of cellar master Michel Parisot from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it seeks to capture the specific characteristics of each year rather than a consistent profile. The 2014 vintage, the seventh edition presented, was vinified in 300-litre oak barrels and aged for nearly ten years in bottle.

Histoire du domaine
Sténopé is not an independent estate, but a joint project between Champagne Devaux and Michel Chapoutier. Its origins date back to the meeting between Laurent Gillet, then associated with Devaux and the Union Auboise, and Michel Chapoutier, over their shared interest in terroirs and vintage wines. In 2007, Michel Chapoutier acquired two parcels in Les Riceys named En Chanzeux and Val Bazot. The first Sténopé came from the 2008 harvest and the collection was officially launched in 2016. Michel Parisot, cellar master at Devaux since 1999, oversees grape selection and vinification, while Michel Chapoutier participates in the project's direction, notably through the role given to oak and the desire to produce a distinct interpretation of each year. Seven vintages have been presented from 2008 to 2014. The 2014 edition, an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, was produced in a numbered series of 8,097 75 cl bottles and 904 magnums.
