Clarendon Hills
Clarendon Hills is a family-run winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia, founded by the biochemist Roman Bratasiuk. The estate cultivates plots located mainly in the Clarendon and Blewitt Springs areas, and produces wines made primarily from Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Its approach is based on identifying and vinifying individual vineyard sites separately.

Histoire du domaine
Roman Bratasiuk, a biochemist by training and a self-taught winemaker, founded Clarendon Hills in 1990 in the McLaren Vale region. The estate initially developed using grapes from old vines in the Clarendon and Blewitt Springs areas. From the very beginning, Roman Bratasiuk focused production on single-vineyard wines, an approach that was still relatively uncommon in Australia at the time. In 1991, Clarendon Hills launched a single-varietal Grenache from a single vineyard in Blewitt Springs. The Astralis Syrah plot was identified by Roman Bratasiuk in 1990. The estate subsequently acquired and planted its own vineyards, notably on a hill in Clarendon at an altitude of 350 metres; this planting, completed in 2005, produced its first harvest in 2009 under the name Domaine Clarendon Syrah. The Domaine Clarendon range was subsequently expanded with a Grenache in 2015, followed by the BDX Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blend in 2016. Roman Bratasiuk remains chairman of the company, whilst his sons Alex and Adam are involved in its operations; Naoto Saito currently holds the post of head winemaker, assisted by Akira Tanno.
