Champagne Egly-Ouriet Brut Millésime Grand Cru 2017 Bouteille (75cl)
The Champagne Egly-Ouriet Brut Millésime Grand Cru 2017 is a white champagne from Champagne crafted by Egly-Ouriet. Classified as a Grand Cru, it blends 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. This cuvée comes from old vines in Ambonnay, on the Montagne de Reims. True to the documented practices for this Millésime Grand Cru, it is fermented and aged in barrels, with 10% new oak, without malolactic fermentation, followed by prolonged aging on the lees. Unfined and unfiltered, this extra-brut champagne favors a precise expression of the fruit and the wine's structure.

Histoire du domaine
The Égly family’s winemaking history in Ambonnay dates back to the 19th century: Francis Égly’s great-grandfather settled there in 1870. Francis’s grandfather, a nurseryman, gradually built up an estate comprising three hectares of vineyards. The Égly-Ouriet estate expanded after the Second World War, building on this vineyard in Ambonnay. Michel Égly, born in 1934, became a winegrower and later brought his son Francis into the business. Born in 1962, Francis Égly took part in his first family grape harvest in 1976 and took over the running of the estate in 1990. The vineyard expanded, notably thanks to the vines belonging to the family of his wife, Annick Ouriet. From 1995 onwards, the estate evolved its practices, moving away from filtration, using indigenous yeasts, focusing more on the ripeness of the grapes and adopting a more precise approach to vineyard management. Francis Égly remains in charge of winemaking, whilst Clémence is primarily involved in sales and hospitality, and Charles helps with vineyard work. Recent sources describe Clémence and Charles Égly as representatives of the fourth generation involved in running the estate.
