Whisky Hakushu 12 ans bouteille-70 cl
Hakushu 12 Year Old Whisky is an amber Japanese single malt, crafted by Hakushu from malt whiskies aged for at least twelve years. Hailing from the Hakushu mountain distillery at the foot of Mount Kaikomagatake, it expresses a fresh and delicately smoky style. The official profile pairs notes of young shoots, green apple, and jasmine with a smooth, clean palate, lingering into a finish that evokes green tea and subtle smoke.

Histoire du domaine
The Hakushu distillery was built in 1973 by Suntory, fifty years after the establishment of the Yamazaki distillery, the group’s first Japanese malt whisky distillery. Its creation is associated with Keizo Saji, then Suntory’s second Master Blender, who was seeking a whisky profile distinct from that of Yamazaki. The site was established in Hakushu, in the town of Hokuto, at the foot of the Southern Japanese Alps, notably to provide access to local groundwater used in production. The distillery produces various styles of malt whisky thanks to the diversity of its fermentation, distillation and maturation facilities. The single malt whisky marketed under the name Hakushu was launched in 1994. In 2023, the distillery’s fiftieth anniversary, Suntory reopened the main facilities to the public following their refurbishment. Hakushu is now operated by Suntory Spirits Limited, a Japanese company within the Suntory Holdings group.
