Arianna Occhipinti's Siccagno 2022 is a Sicilia DOC red wine produced in Sicily from 100% Nero d'Avola. This cuvée comes from two estate-identified vineyards, Bombolieri and Fossa di Lupo. The vines are biodynamically farmed, organically certified, and cultivated without chemical intervention. For the 2022 vintage, the estate highlights wines characterized by fine acidity and freshness.

Arianna Occhipinti
In Vittoria, in southeastern Sicily, Arianna Occhipinti primarily cultivates Frappato and Nero d’Avola on soils combining sand, limestone, tuff, and gypsum. Farmed organically and following biodynamic practices, the estate favors spontaneous fermentations, measured extractions, and aging in concrete or large wooden vessels. Siccagno, made exclusively from Nero d’Avola, is one of the property's emblematic cuvées.

Histoire du domaine
After studying oenology at the University of Milan, Arianna Occhipinti returned to Vittoria and founded her estate in 2004. Encouraged by her uncle Giusto Occhipinti, co-founder of COS, she began with one hectare of bush vines (alberello) in Fossa di Lupo and vinified her first wines with rudimentary equipment. The property subsequently expanded progressively into the contrade of Bombolieri, Pettineo, Bastonaca, Santa Teresa, Serra d’Elia, and Santa Margherita. The official website today indicates approximately 30 hectares of vines, complemented by olive groves, grains, fruit trees, and a vegetable garden in an agricultural approach based on biodiversity. Arianna Occhipinti's work has notably contributed to bringing the Frappato of Vittoria back into the spotlight, while offering a precise interpretation of Nero d’Avola through Siccagno and several contrada wines.
