Le domaine
Domaine de la Grande Colline is located on the heights of Cornas and also shares a history closely tied to Saint-Péray. Founded by Hirotake Ooka, it is now managed by Jonathan Jacquart, who notably vinifies Syrah in whole clusters, with measured extractions and aging in neutral oak barrels. The vineyard spans 3.8 hectares of hillside plots.

Histoire du domaine
The estate was created in the early 2000s by Hirotake Ooka, a Japanese winemaker trained in oenology in Bordeaux. After working with Jean-Louis Grippat and Domaine de Vallouit, while joining Thierry Allemand on weekends, he joined the latter's team in 2000. Ooka then acquired a plot in Saint-Péray and produced his first vintage in 2001, before developing a 3.8-hectare vineyard that notably includes Syrah hillside plots in Cornas. He produced the estate's now-iconic cuvées, including G, SP, and Cornas. The 2017 vintage was his last in France: he sold the property and returned to Japan, where he has been producing wine in Okayama starting in 2018. Thierry Allemand then bought the estate and associated Jonathan Jacquart with its management. A former sommelier at the restaurant Lasserre in Paris, Jacquart trained with Emmanuel Reynaud at Château Rayas, Thierry Allemand, and several estates in Alsace, Jura, and Burgundy. Now presented by the estate's importer as owner and winemaker, he manages the vineyard and vinification while developing biodiversity across the plots.
