Champagne Guillaume Selosse Largillier, dégorgement 2018 Bouteille (75cl)
Champagne Guillaume Selosse Largillier, disgorged in 2018, is a non-vintage blanc de noirs made from Pinot Noir. This cuvée comes from the L’Argillier parcel located in Ville-sur-Arce in the Aube region. The base wine is fermented in barrels and aged on the lees before being blended with a perpetual reserve; the secondary fermentation in bottle is followed by bottle aging. Its extra-brut dosage, around 1.5 g/l, highlights a taut, low-dosage expression of Pinot Noir.

Guillaume Selosse
Guillaume Selosse is a winemaker from Avize, in Champagne, who has produced two very small ranges under his own name, distinct from those of the family estate, Jacques Selosse. His ‘Au-Dessus du Gros Mont’ cuvée comes from a 7.6-are plot of Chardonnay in Cramant, which he inherited from his grandmother in 2008. He has also produced ‘Largillier’ from Pinot Noir grapes grown on a plot in Ville-sur-Arce belonging to Jérôme Coessens.

Histoire du domaine
In 2008, on his 18th birthday, Guillaume Selosse received from his grandmother a 7.6-are plot planted with old Chardonnay vines in Cramant, at a place known as Au-Dessus du Gros Mont. The 2008 harvest was set aside as a reserve wine rather than being sold. The first cuvée under his own name was then produced using a 2009 base supplemented by this reserve, before being released in 2016. This wine comes exclusively from his own identified plot, distinct from the Jacques Selosse estate’s vineyard. In 2012, Guillaume Selosse also began a collaboration with Jérôme Coessens, a winegrower in Ville-sur-Arce in the Aube department, to produce Largillier from Pinot Noir grapes purchased and monitored by him throughout the growing season. Technical data sheets from the American importer Rare Wine Co indicated average production figures of around 660 bottles for Au-Dessus du Gros Mont and 3,500 bottles for Largillier. Recent trade sources indicate that the supply of grapes for Largillier continued until the 2021 harvest, whilst more recent disgorgements may correspond to wines that have already been matured and stored. Guillaume Selosse oversees the winemaking for his own cuvées and has also been managing the family estate, Jacques Selosse, since 2018.
Largillier
Largillier is a single-plot Champagne cuvée crafted by Guillaume Selosse from Pinot Noir sourced from Jérôme Coessens's Largillier monopoly in Ville-sur-Arce, in the Côte des Bar. This Blanc de Noirs is distinguished by prolonged aging on the lees in barrels, which can last up to three years, sometimes followed by tank aging before bottling. It is marketed as an extra-brut.
- Origin of the cuvée name
- The name comes from the Largillier wine monopoly, located in Ville-sur-Arce and owned by Jérôme Coessens.
- Cuvée creation year
- 2012
- Style of the cuvée
- A vinous, deep, and textured Blanc de Noirs, marked by the Pinot Noir of the Côte des Bar, long aging on the lees, and a low dosage. Its overall style favors complexity, substance, and the expression of place over a light, strictly aperitif profile.
- Position within the range
- Guillaume Selosse's second personal cuvée, after Au Dessus du Gros Mont.
Histoire de la cuvée
Guillaume Selosse created Largillier in 2012 as part of his small merchant business Guillaume S., in collaboration with Aube winemaker Jérôme Coessens. He vinified the wines from Largillier between 2012 and 2022, experimenting with particularly long lees aging.
