Histoire du domaine
Claude Moët founded his wine merchant’s business in Épernay in 1743. His grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, subsequently developed overseas markets and contributed to the company’s international expansion. In 1816, Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles became his business partner. When Jean-Rémy Moët retired from the business in 1833, the company was passed on to his son Victor Moët-Romont and his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles. It then took the name Moët & Chandon. During the 19th century, the house significantly increased its shipments and commercial presence. It is now part of the LVMH group, within MHCS. Benoît Gouez has served as cellar master there since 2005.
P3
P3 is a new release of a vintage Dom Pérignon aged for a very long time on the lees before disgorgement. It corresponds to the wine's third plenitude, generally reached after more than 25 years of winemaking, and differs from the Vintage and P2 releases of the same vintage by its extended maturation.
- Origin of the cuvée name
- P3 stands for "Plénitude 3", the third expression of plenitude identified in the evolution of Dom Pérignon.
- Cuvée creation year
- 2014
- Style of the cuvée
- A very mature, profound, and complex expression of Dom Pérignon, retaining precision and freshness thanks to prolonged aging on the lees.
- Position within the range
- The third and rarest plenitude of Dom Pérignon, at the pinnacle of its long-lees-aged releases.
Histoire de la cuvée
The Plénitudes program replaced the Œnothèque designation to distinguish Dom Pérignon's successive windows of expression. P3 was introduced in 2014 as the third of these plenitudes, with the first releases coming from older vintages.
