Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 1995 Bouteille (75cl) ETLA
The Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 1995 is a Rhône Valley red wine crafted by Château de Beaucastel, owned by Jean-Pierre and François Perrin. Its blend prominently features equal parts Mourvèdre and Grenache (30% each), followed by Syrah, Counoise and Cinsault, rounded out by other authorized grape varieties. Stemming from a very hot, dry summer, extended by favorable conditions right through to the end of harvest, it comes from a vineyard exposed to the mistral wind in the north of the appellation. The grapes are harvested and vinified separately by variety; Mourvèdre and Syrah go into truncated conical oak vats, while the Grenache is vinified in concrete tanks, prior to one year of aging in oak foudres. Wine Spectator awards it 95/100, The Wine Advocate 92/100 and Jancis Robinson 16/20. Critics highlighted a firm tannic structure, ripe red fruits, licorice and smoky, mineral and tobacco nuances, with a more pronounced aromatic reserve noted by Jancis Robinson.

Histoire du domaine
The first records of the estate date back to 1549, when Pierre de Beaucastel acquired a barn and land at a place known as Coudoulet. A manor house was subsequently built on the estate. In 1687, a descendant of the same name was appointed by Louis XIV as captain of the town of Courthézon. After several centuries in existence, the estate was acquired in 1909 by Pierre Tramier. He subsequently passed Beaucastel on to his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, who helped to modernise it. Jacques Perrin continued to develop the estate until 1978. His sons, Jean-Pierre and François Perrin, then took over. The fifth generation of the Perrin family is now involved in running the estate. The Beaucastel vineyard covers 130 hectares, 100 of which are situated within the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. A new winery, spearheaded by the fifth generation, was inaugurated in May 2025.
