Histoire du domaine
Domaine Sigaut stems from a family originally from Morey-Saint-Denis, and its history dates back to the early 19th century. The Sigaut family now represents the fifth generation to cultivate the vines. In the early 1950s, Maurice Sigaut carried out the estate’s first bottlings, notably a Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru ‘Les Sentiers’. In 1977, his son Hervé took over the vineyards from his grandmother Andrée and established an initial 5-hectare estate, before later taking over his father’s vineyards. Anne, then working as an interior designer and upholsterer in Nancy, took part in her first grape harvest at the estate in 1984. The estate expanded its presence in the Côte de Beaune in 1994 with the acquisition of a plot in Puligny-Montrachet. Anne Sigaut produced her first vintage in 2004. When Hervé Sigaut officially retired in 2008, she took over the management of the estate and assumed responsibility for winemaking. The vineyard now covers 7 hectares in Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Puligny-Montrachet.
Les Noirots
Les Noirots is a climat officially classified as a Premier Cru of the AOC Chambolle-Musigny, in the northern part of the communal terroir. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 260 meters, with a predominantly east to east-south-east exposure, and some plots locally featuring a southern component. Producer sources describe clay-limestone and stony soils established on a bedrock ledge. The compact Prémeaux limestone and local presence of cherty flint (chailles) are documented on certain plots, without sufficient proof of their homogeneity across the entire climat.

Histoire de la parcelle
The Chambolle-Musigny appellation was initially recognized by the decree of September 11, 1936. The specific plot area allowing the "Premier Cru" designation was approved by the INAO on June 1 and 2, 1988, and the specifications explicitly identify the climat and lieu-dit Les Noirots. Published explanations regarding the origin of the name diverge between a derivation from "noiret", an old name for the walnut tree, and a reference to the berries or trees of the rowan; no decisive institutional etymology has been found.
