Domaine Patrick Javillier Meursault Clos du Cromin 2017 Magnum (150cl)
The 2017 Domaine Patrick Javillier Meursault Clos du Cromin is a Village-class white Burgundy wine from the Clos du Cromin parcel, made from 100% Chardonnay. Jancis Robinson awards it 16.5/20 and recommends drinking it from 2021 to 2027. The critic highlights a very pure and vibrant Meursault with a taut, fresh, and almost austere profile within the style of the appellation.

Histoire du domaine
The history of the estate began in 1945, when Raymond Javillier, returning from the war, took over the operation of 2 hectares of vineyards long owned by the family. In 1974, his son Patrick Javillier, holding the National Diploma of Enology, carried out his first harvest and vinification alone after taking over the estate from his father. During the 1980s and until the early 1990s, Patrick expanded the estate through the acquisition of parcels and the takeover of vineyards belonging to the family of his wife, Catherine. His eldest daughter Marion joined the business in 2005 after studies in management, enology, and viticulture; she took charge of the red wines and marketing. In 2011, Pierre-Emmanuel Lamy, husband of Laurène, Marion's sister, joined the estate in turn to look after the vineyards as well as the vinification and ageing of the white wines. Marion Javillier and Pierre-Emmanuel Lamy now represent the third active generation of this family estate, which has grown to 11 hectares.
Clos du Cromin
Clos du Cromin refers to an enclosure attached to the climat or cadastral lieu-dit Le Cromin, in the north-east of Meursault, near the boundary of the Volnay vineyard. It falls under the Meursault Village appellation and notably produces Chardonnay white wines. The terrain is described as flat or located at the foot of the slope, with a south and south-east exposure, featuring deep soils where clay dominates. The subsoil is stony to rocky, with rock outcrops or 'têtes de roche' reported in the lower parts.
