Roc Anglade Rouge 2013 Bouteille (75cl)

The 2013 Roc Anglade Rouge is a Languedoc red wine produced by Domaine Roc d’Anglade. It brings together Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. At the estate, the grapes are harvested by hand with cluster sorting, then vinified using indigenous yeasts without seeking excessive extraction. The macerations, which are fairly short, preserve fruit finesse and ethereal textures. Ageing in seasoned foudres and demi-muids aims to refine the wine without dominant oak influence.

Mainly Chenin Blanc from this fine estate west of Nîmes and very much made in the image of a crystalline Roulot Meursault. A light whiff of matchstick and extremely crisp acidity. Tight and tense but with a fine undertow of ripe fruit. Very serious dry white wine.
