Jamet Cote Brune 2005
The 2005 Domaine Jamet Côte Brune is a red Côte-Rôtie wine from the northern Rhône Valley, made from 100% Syrah. Côte Brune is the estate's sole parcel selection, created in 1976, coming from a plot located on the cadastral lieu-dit Côte-Brune. This schist terroir gives its identity to this cuvée. The estate traditionally crafts this selection using whole-cluster fermentation, with a maceration of about twenty days, followed by 24 months of aging in barrels, of which 30% are new oak.

Histoire du domaine
Domaine Jamet is part of the Jamet family’s wine-growing history in Ampuis, where the estate once combined vineyards and fruit orchards. Jean-Paul Jamet founded the estate at the hamlet of Le Vallin in 1975. The first harvest was bottled at the estate in 1976, following a period during which the produce was sold to wine merchants. Jean-Paul initially worked alongside his father Joseph, and later with his brother Jean-Luc. Over the years, the family built up a portfolio of plots on the slopes of Côte-Rôtie and expanded their range to include wines from Condrieu and the Côtes-du-Rhône. In 2013, the two brothers went their separate ways and Jean-Luc set up his own estate. Domaine Jamet has since remained under the management of Jean-Paul and his wife Corinne. Loïc Jamet has gradually become involved in the work in the cellar and the vineyard; in particular, he has been producing the Condrieu Vernillon since 2015 with his father’s support. Fanny and Loïc now carry on the family business alongside their parents.
Côte Brune
Côte Brune is the only single-vineyard selection from Domaine Jamet. This Côte-Rôtie comes from a parcel located on the cadastral designation Côte-Brune, with schist soils, and is made exclusively from Syrah. The estate presents it as the specific expression of this lieu-dit.
