Emmanuel Houillon Pierre Overnoy Arbois Pupillin Vin Jaune 1989 Bottle (62cl)
The 1989 Vin Jaune from Emmanuel Houillon and Pierre Overnoy is a Jura wine in the Arbois appellation, originating from Pupillin and produced by Maison Pierre Overnoy and Emmanuel Houillon. Arbois Vin Jaune is crafted exclusively from Savagnin, then aged under a veil of yeast without topping up (ouillage) for at least six years and three months. For this cuvée, a ten-year maturation under the veil is documented, highlighting its deep roots in the traditional style of Jura vin jaune.

Maison Pierre Overnoy et Emmanuel Houillon
Located in Pupillin, Maison Pierre Overnoy farms 6.6 hectares dedicated mainly to Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard — locally called ploussard — and Trousseau. The wines are distinguished by patient ageing and a particularly low-intervention cellar approach.

Histoire du domaine
In 1968, Pierre Overnoy took over the 2.65 hectares of vines from the family mixed-farming estate run by his father in Pupillin. From the beginning, he worked without synthetic herbicides or pesticides and progressively sought to break away from conventional oenological practices, under the influence notably of Jules Chauvet, Jacques Néauport and his own observations; this journey led him to abandon sulfur in winemaking in the mid-1980s. Emmanuel Houillon arrived as an apprentice in the autumn of 1990, then became an employee after his training in viticulture and oenology. He personally took charge of a third of a hectare of Chardonnay in 1995, planted an additional half-hectare in 1998, and in the same year supported the expansion of the estate through the takeover of 2.5 hectares of Poulsard and Savagnin belonging to Pierre's sister. In 2001, Pierre Overnoy retired and handed over management to Emmanuel Houillon, who officially became his adopted son; Emmanuel and his wife Anne then fully took the reins of the maison. Thirty ares of Trousseau were planted in 2013. In 2025, Emmanuel Houillon stated that he was maintaining the estate at 6.60 hectares; his son Baptiste had also joined the estate after apprenticeships at Ruppert-Leroy in Champagne and Thierry Allemand in Cornas.
