Domain Seppi Landmann Sylvaner Vin de Glace 1999 Half-Bottle
The 1999 Domaine Seppi Landmann Sylvaner Vin de Glace is an Alsace white wine produced by Domaine Seppi Landmann from 100% Sylvaner. This cuvée comes from a parcel of Sylvaner harvested as an ice wine on January 25, 2000, following the 1999 vintage. It illustrates a rare interpretation of Alsatian Sylvaner, vinified under the traditional designation of ice wine.

Domaine Seppi Landmann
Created in Soultzmatt by Seppi Landmann, the estate farms 8.5 hectares in the Vallée Noble, notably on the Zinnkoepflé grand cru and the Bollenberg. It has distinguished itself through its high-maturity wines, in particular its sylvaners, vendanges tardives, sélections de grains nobles, and ice wines. Since 2011, its vineyard and cuvées have been integrated into Domaine Rieflé-Landmann while retaining the Seppi Landmann identity.

Histoire du domaine
Son of a winegrower who delivered his grapes to the cooperative, Seppi Landmann studied oenology in Burgundy before leaving the cooperative structure in 1982 and vinifying his first personal vintage in Soultzmatt. He then developed an 8.5-hectare estate spread across the Zinnkoepflé grand cru, the Bollenberg, and other hillside plots in the Vallée Noble. His work is characterized by controlled yields, high-maturity harvests, and extensive research into vendanges tardives, sélections de grains nobles, and ice wines, notably from the sylvaner grape. Without a direct successor, on October 9, 2011, he formalized an alliance with Jean-Claude and Annick Rieflé as well as their sons Paul and Thomas. Starting with the 2011 vintage, the grapes are vinified in Pfaffenheim, separately according to their origin, in order to preserve the Seppi Landmann cuvées and signature. The Rieflé family then took over the operation of the vineyard, while Seppi Landmann remains associated with the vinifications as an advisor and ambassador for his wines. The historic parcels have been certified organic since 2014.
