Château La Garde
Located in Martillac, Château La Garde farms 54 hectares in a single block within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Its vineyard comprises 50 hectares of red grape varieties and 4 hectares of white grape varieties, spread across a mosaic of gravel and clay-limestone soils. Plot-by-plot vinification is carried out in a gravity-fed cellar entirely redesigned in 2021, under the responsibility of cellar master Guillaume Rousseau.

Histoire du domaine
The chartreuse of Château La Garde was built in 1732, and vines already occupied its plateau in the mid-18th century. The name "Lagarde" appears on the 1756 Cassini map; the "Bourdieu de Lagarde" then belonged to the Blanchard family. In 1877, the Lacoste family, Bordeaux wine merchants who also owned Grand-Puy-Lacoste in Pauillac, purchased the estate and redeveloped the vineyard, which had been affected by the phylloxera crisis; the wine was then marketed under the name Clos La Garde. In 1881, the Lacoste family expanded and embellished the farm building adjoining the chartreuse. Louis Eschenauer, a Bordeaux merchant, acquired the estate in 1920; the leopard coat of arms with a lion's head has appeared on its labels since that period. Maison Dourthe acquired Château La Garde in June 1990. An underground barrel cellar was excavated in 1991, followed by the complete redesign and inauguration of the vat room in 2021 to vinify the estate's various micro-plots separately.
