Château Filhot Creme de Tete 1990
The 1990 Château Filhot Crème de Tête is a sweet white wine from the Sauternes appellation, crafted by Château Filhot, a Second Cru Classé of Sauternes. This cuvée brings together Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle. Produced exclusively in 1990, it is distinguished by particularly pronounced concentration and richness. The château's vineyards occupy south-facing slopes in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, where conditions favor the development of Botrytis cinerea on the grapes.

Histoire du domaine
The origins of the current Filhot vineyard date back to the period between the 1630s and 1650s. Romain de Filhot, a councillor at the Parliament of Bordeaux, had the château built in 1709. In 1807, the marriage of Marie-Joséphine de Filhot to Antoine de Lur-Saluces brought Filhot into the portfolio of the Lur-Saluces family’s estates. In 1840, Romain-Bertrand de Lur-Saluces merged Filhot with the Pineau du Rey estate. He had the château rebuilt in 1845 in a neoclassical style and commissioned an English-style park designed by Louis-Bernard Fischer. The estate was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. Marketed under the name Château Sauternes in the 19th century, it reverted to the name Château Filhot in 1901. In 1935, Countess Durieu de Lacarelle, née Lur-Saluces, bought back the family vineyard; her son, Louis Durieu de Lacarelle, subsequently played a part in its restoration. Henri de Vaucelles and his wife Sophie managed the estate from 1974 to 2001, before their son Gabriel de Vaucelles took over its management.
