Les Crais
Les Crais is a 1.73 ha climat located immediately east of the village of Fixin, in the lower and very gently sloping part of the hillside. It falls under the Fixin Village appellation and is not listed among the climats classified as Premier Cru. Its light, well-draining brown soil combines silt, sand, and clay with a high proportion of gravel, pebbles, and rounded alluvial blocks. Thick alluvial deposits dominate, with a salmon-pink limestone conglomerate in the upper section.

- Fixin
- Origin of the vineyard name
- The name "Crais", a variant of "Cras", is believed to come from the Gallic word "caracos", meaning a stony height or heap of stones; this interpretation is consistent with the site's numerous alluvial pebbles and gravels.

In 1855, Jules Lavalle classified Les Crais among the "second cuvées" of Fixin. The climat is now bottled separately by several producers as Fixin Village; the Fixin appellation was officially recognized in 1936.
