Lurquin Coteaux Champenois Les Crayères du Levant 2020 Bouteille (75cl)
With Les Crayères du Levant 2020, Aurélien Lurquin crafts a still white wine from the Coteaux Champenois appellation, produced in Champagne. This vintage cuvée takes its name from its lieu-dit and belongs to an appellation dedicated to non-sparkling wines from the Champagne vineyards. Available information links this 2020 release to the village of Romery in the Vallée de la Marne, as well as to a Coteaux Champenois cuvée aged on its lees in oak barrels.

Aurélien Lurquin
Based in Romery, in the Marne Valley, Aurélien Lurquin cultivates a fragmented vineyard of approximately 2.3 hectares, notably originating the Les Crayères du Levant cuvée. He personally conducts parcel-by-parcel vinifications in very limited volumes, with indigenous fermentations, extended lees aging, and a constant pursuit of freshness. A portion of the grapes remains sold to the négociant trade, while production marketed under his name approaches 2,000 bottles per year according to available professional data.

Histoire du domaine
Aurélien Lurquin trained in Burgundy with Luc Pavelot, in Pernand-Vergelesses, between 2002 and 2005. He then stayed in the Maule Valley, Chile, where he familiarized himself with daily vineyard work using horses. Returning to Champagne, he initiated the organic conversion of his vineyard in 2007 and acquired in the same year a traditional Coquart press with a capacity of 2,000 kg. The estate is established in Romery and comprises about fifteen parcels; the oldest, Les Crayères, was planted by his grandfather in 1947. Aurélien Lurquin presented his first vintage, 2013, in 2016. The juices flow by gravity into an old cellar, where he conducts slow fermentations and extended aging, generally separating cuvée and taille. The production bottled under his name remains extremely limited, with a portion of the grapes historically having been sold to the négociant trade.
Crayères du Levant
Les Crayères du Levant is a single-plot cuvée from the eponymous plot in Romery, in the Vallée de la Marne. Aurélien Lurquin has released several expressions of it, notably from Meunier or Chardonnay, as both Champagne and Coteaux Champenois. The documented sparkling versions are crafted without dosage and produced in very limited quantities.
