Histoire du domaine
Clos René is a historic estate in Pomerol, marked as ‘Reney’ on the map drawn up by the engineer and geographer Pierre de Belleyme in 1764. The estate has been in the same family for several generations. Pierre Lasserre entrusted its management to his grandson, Jean-Marie Garde, who now runs the estate. The estate is part of the SCEA Garde-Lasserre and also includes the neighbouring Château Moulinet-Lasserre. The vineyard is situated on the western slope of the Pomerol plateau, on Quaternary gravel and sand resting on a subsoil of iron-rich clay. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinification takes place in temperature-controlled vats. Pierre Lasserre is listed as the estate’s technical manager.
