Château Beauregard 1999 Magnum (150cl) ELA
Château Beauregard 1999 is a red wine from Pomerol, in Bordeaux, produced by Château Beauregard from 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. This cuvée comes from a 17,5-hectare estate located at the entrance to the appellation, on gravelly-clay soils; the vineyard's grape variety breakdown corresponds to that of this vintage. The announced production was 54 000 bottles, and ageing took place in oak barrels. The Wine Advocate awards it 88/100 with a drinking window from 2003 to 2014; Wine Spectator rates it 86/100 and recommended drinking it after 2002. Critics mention a Pomerol with a round and dense texture, featuring notes of ripe fruit, mocha, smoke, and tobacco, while Jancis Robinson considers the balance more questionable.

Histoire du domaine
The history of the site dates back to the 12th century, when the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem owned a small manor and farmed the lands; their cross became the emblem of Beauregard. Five centuries later, the Beauregard family had an initial building constructed there. This was replaced during the Napoleonic era by the current Gironde chartreuse, designed by a student of Victor Louis. The estate gradually abandoned mixed farming in favor of viticulture starting in the mid-18th century. Owned by Crédit Foncier from 1991, Château Beauregard was acquired in 2014 by the Moulin and Cathiard families, who initiated the rehabilitation of the chartreuse and a complete overhaul of the facilities, notably featuring a new gravity-fed vat room operational for the 2015 harvest. The most recent professional sources now present Beauregard as a property of the Moulin family, held via Motier Domaines. In February 2025, Lauren Laudrin succeeded Vincent Priou as general manager, while Augustin Belloy represents the owning family.
