Histoire du domaine
The Ogier family has worked the slopes of Ampuis for seven generations and historically practiced polyculture, primarily centered around vines and apricots. Michel Ogier initiated a decisive turning point in 1983 by commercializing his first vintage: he began with six barriques, then gradually stopped selling his grapes to wine merchants in order to vinify his entire harvest. After five years of study in Beaune, his son Stéphane joined the estate in 1997, which was then limited to about 2.5 hectares, and took over. He abandoned polyculture, expanded the vineyard beyond Ampuis, and adopted separate vinification for each plot. La Belle Hélène was created upon his arrival from old vines in Côte Brune, as a tribute to his mother; Lancement, originating from Côte Blonde, appeared in 2004. Stéphane also planted his first vineyard in Seyssuel in 2001, a terroir from which he has produced L’Âme Sœur starting in 2004. The estate's expansion toward Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Seyssuel, and other Rhône sectors gradually brought its planted surface area to 45 hectares. Since the 2015 vintage, the wines have been crafted in a new winery in Ampuis designed for plot-by-plot vinification.

Histoire de la cuvée
A bottle of the 1995 vintage bearing the mentions "Côte Rozier", "Vieilles Vignes" and "La Belle Hélène" attests to the early commercialization of this cuvée by Michel Ogier. It was subsequently maintained in Michel and Stéphane Ogier's range as a single-parcel selection, as a tribute to Hélène Ogier.
